MODERNTEC Secures Green Technology Certification with Proprietary “Power Distribution & Sequential Charging Control” Patent
Ensures Stable Charging Performance Even in High-Temperature Environments... Accelerates Global Market Expansion
MODERNTEC, a leading EV charger manufacturer led by CEO Kim Sung-doo, has obtained Green Technology Certification from the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) based on its proprietary patent technology. With this certification, MODERNTEC has demonstrated both the excellence and eco-friendliness of its technology, further accelerating its push into the global ultra-fast charger market.
The Green Technology Certification system, established under the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality, is awarded to promising eco-friendly technologies that foster new industries, support climate change response, and reduce fine dust emissions. It is expected to strengthen industrial competitiveness by driving revenue growth and creating jobs.
The certified technology, Power Distribution and Simultaneous/Sequential Charging Control, features a structure that separates the power supply and charging units. This enables efficient charging of multiple vehicles even under limited power capacity. Its performance and safety have been validated by the Korea Testing Certification (KTC), an internationally recognized testing organization. The company has also received government recognition, including selection for the Global Hidden Champion 1,000+ program and the Presidential Award at the SME Technology Innovation Fair.
The technology was also highly evaluated for its ability to minimize power loss and standby power while maximizing charging efficiency. MODERNTEC is applying this innovation to its 240kW–480kW ultra-fast chargers and is currently pursuing registration as a Green Technology Product. The company plans to actively supply eco-friendly chargers to both public institutions and the private sector, while also expecting additional benefits such as carbon credit revenues and strengthened ESG management.
In addition, MODERNTEC recently obtained CE certification for its 360kW and 240kW ultra-fast chargers. Notably, this marks the first time a Korean company has passed the latest CE standard, which includes strengthened cybersecurity requirements. This achievement paves the way for market entry not only in Europe but also in the UAE and Southeast Asia, where CE certification is widely recognized.
The newly certified products are designed to maintain stable charging performance even in high-temperature environments. Unlike conventional chargers, which experience performance degradation at around 55℃, MODERNTEC’s chargers operate reliably up to 62.5℃. This makes them strategically suited for hot-climate regions such as the Middle East and Africa.
CEO Kim Sung-doo stated, “Securing both Green Technology Certification and CE certification is highly meaningful, as it validates both the technical excellence and eco-friendliness of our proprietary technology. Building on our high-heat-resistance charging technology, we will continue strengthening our global competitiveness and accelerating expansion in the ultra-fast charger market.”
