Moderntec Wins “2025 Future Creative Management Excellence Award” for Third Consecutive Year

2025-12-22

Moderntec (CEO Kim Sung-doo) won the “2025 Future Creative Management Excellence Award” for the third consecutive year at an awards ceremony hosted by MoneyToday, held on the 19th at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.

The Future Creative Management Excellence Award was established to discover and foster outstanding companies that contribute to job creation and employment stability through innovative management. The award is hosted by MoneyToday and sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Founded in 2003, Moderntec has grown based on its expertise in machine tools and factory automation systems. In 2009, the company entered the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure market by developing Korea’s first 50 kW-class fast EV charger. Since then, Moderntec has continuously pursued technology development and demonstration projects in next-generation power infrastructure, including renewable energy- and ESS-linked chargers, V2G chargers, and unmanned robot charging systems. Today, the company has established itself as a total EV charging infrastructure specialist, covering the entire process from charger manufacturing and installation to operation and after-sales service.

Moderntec’s core competitive strength lies in its power distribution and variable power control technology. This high-efficiency technology is evaluated as capable of reducing standby power consumption by approximately 70% and lowering installation costs by more than 80% compared to conventional chargers. The technology has been applied across Moderntec’s entire product lineup and contributed to the company becoming the first EV charger manufacturer to receive an “S Grade” in the Climate Value Assessment conducted by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP). In recognition of its technological excellence, Moderntec also obtained Green Technology Certification from the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). Granted under the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, the certification is expected to promote the market expansion of environmentally friendly technologies and enhance corporate competitiveness by supporting responses to climate change and fine dust reduction.

Through continuous R&D and quality innovation, Moderntec is also accelerating efforts to strengthen its global competitiveness. Recently, the company has been collaborating with Company S to develop technology aimed at achieving 100% localization of power modules, a core component of EV chargers. This initiative is expected to replace highly import-dependent power conversion devices with domestic technology, generating synergies such as supply chain and service network stabilization, cost reduction, and improved product reliability.

In addition, Moderntec has obtained European CE certification for its 360 kW and 240 kW ultra-fast chargers. This certification marks the first case in Korea to meet the latest CE standards reflecting strengthened cybersecurity requirements, providing a foundation for market entry into Europe as well as CE-recognized regions such as the UAE and Southeast Asia. Notably, these products are designed to maintain stable performance even in high-temperature environments. While general chargers experience performance degradation at around 55°C, Moderntec’s chargers operate without performance loss up to 62.5°C. This feature is regarded as a differentiated technological advantage targeting high-temperature regions such as the Middle East and Africa.

Kim Sung-doo, CEO of Moderntec, stated, “Through the localization of power modules, we will further enhance technological self-reliance in EV charging systems,” adding, “Based on our Green Technology Certification and CE certification, we will strengthen our core technological competitiveness and accelerate our entry into the global ultra-fast charging market.”
